ALG Research is proud to announce that Partner Brian Stryker is a recipient of the 2021 American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) 40 Under 40 Award, making him a member of the most accomplished new generation of pollsters in the United States.

AAPC President Becki Donatelli had this to say about the recipients: “In an unprecedented campaign cycle due to the global pandemic, this year’s 40 Under 40 class highlights the rising influencers, entrepreneurs, creators, and strategists that are shaping the future of political consulting. We’re excited to recognize and celebrate them early on in their careers, and we look forward to seeing the incredible work they put forth in the future to further our industry.”

ALG is proud to have Stryker’s hard work recognized by an institution of AAPC’s magnitude, and we’d like to take this opportunity to highlight Brian’s achievements.

As an industry leader in Midwestern political analysis, Stryker contributed to the historic Democratic flips in the region we’ve seen in the past five years. Brian led the polling for Governor Gretchen Whitmer (MI), who won the race to replace conservative Rick Snyder in 2018. Stryker also led the polling for Reps. Cindy Axne (IA), Ron Kind (WI), and Haley Stevens (MI), resulting in landmark victories in districts Trump won. His work in the region continues today, with Stryker aiding Senate candidates Mandela Barnes (WI) and Tim Ryan (OH) in their campaigns during the mid-term election cycle.

Demand for Stryker’s work isn’t limited to the American market either. Having polled in over one hundred countries, Brian’s international record is as broad as it is exceptional. In 2015, for instance, he was the lead pollster for Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari in his historic win over incumbent Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Stryker’s work there made possible the first-ever peaceful transition of the presidency in Nigeria across party lines. Other notable nations polled by Stryker include Nicaragua, Haiti, and Algeria.

Brian’s win at the 2021 AAPC Pollie Conference marks the second time an ALG partner has won the 40 Under 40 Award. Partner Molly Murphy was recognized in 2019, having been the pollster for Arizona’s Kyrsten Sinema, Massachusetts’s Ayanna Pressley, and Florida’s Donna Shalala in their successful 2018 campaigns.

ALG Research’s work was also celebrated at this year’s conference when the AAPC named the 2020 Biden presidential campaign their Democratic Campaign of the Year. ALG Partners John Anzalone and Matt Hogan were key strategists as lead members of the Biden campaign polling team. “The campaign found unique methods to communicate to voters in an unforeseen pandemic, and in doing so fundamentally changed the way that we conduct our campaigns today,” said Rick Ridder of RBI Strategies and Research in the announcement.
