Assistant Associate
Minimum Experience: Strong interest or background in politics or polling.
This position is available soon in our Washington, D.C. office.
Impact Research is a nationally recognized Democratic polling firm with offices in Washington, DC, Boston, Chicago, New York and company headquarters in Montgomery, AL.
The Assistant Associate will support partners, VPs, and associates in writing surveys, analyzing data, and presenting strategic recommendations based on findings through reports and presentations. This is a rare opening for a nationally recognized firm. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, has excellent verbal and written communication skills, and works efficiently with short timelines, moving deadlines, and significant pressure. Applicants should be self-starters with exceptional organizational and time-management skills. The candidate selected for this position will interact with Impact partners and associates and have the opportunity to be trained in polling and strategic consulting.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Researching & preparing documents for proposals, presentations, and client meetings and calls.
• Proofing surveys, data, and strategic memos.
• Creating reports, memos, charts, and Power Point presentations based on data.
• Assisting in survey development, fielding surveys, and reporting of data.
• Interpreting data to create meaningful and usable information to assist project leads with strategy development.
• Assisting the Associate team with any other needs as required.
Preference given to candidates who possess a mix of the following:
• Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques.
• Impeccable attention to detail.
• Creative thinker and innovator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to multi-task, highly organized with strong time management skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects with strict deadlines on a daily basis.
• The ability to laugh at oneself or tell a good joke.

Research Coordinator
This position is available immediately in our Montgomery, AL office.
Impact Research is a nationally recognized Democratic polling firm with offices in Washington, DC, Boston, Chicago, New York and company headquarters in Montgomery, AL. We are looking for an intelligent, hard-working professional with an interest in Democratic politics, a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Tracking and confirming quantitative and qualitative project schedules
- Proofreading surveys and other documents for grammar and/or data errors
- Coordinating project sample sizes/ specifications and orders
- Reviewing daily partials and communicating problems/needs
- Setting up/updating server folder system for each client.
- Creating and updating daily data reports to determine survey progress and accuracy
- Creating internal tracking sheets in Excel
- Formatting client deliverables in Excel
- Assisting the Research team with any other needs as required
Preference given to candidates who possess a mix of the following:
- Ability to multi-task and handle/prioritize importance of projects/tasks
- Ability to troubleshoot problems effectively
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and/or on a deadline
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with data in political campaigns
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Familiarity with survey process/data collection preferred, but not required
- Experience in SPSS and/or SPSS Data Reporter preferred, but not required
- Bachelor’s degree
- The ability to laugh at oneself or tell a good joke.
